Winter in the Ultental Valley offers lots of wonderful activities, with a choice of winter hiking or skiing, sledding or skating, an enjoyable excursion with the family, or relaxation in the winter sunshine.
The Schwemmalm ski area is just above the village of Pracupola on a sunny slope. The cable car is only a 5-minute drive from our hotel, and takes you comfortably up to a height of 2200 metres. Expert and discerning skiers have a choice of 25 kilometres of slopes in this ski area. After you come down from the perfectly groomed slopes, you can enjoy a pleasant rest in the winter sun in front of the mountain hut.
Families also feel right at home during a skiing holiday up at Schwemmalm. It’s easy for parents to keep an eye on their youngsters because the ski school, the crèche and the special slope for young skiers are all grouped together at the centre of the ski area. Your skiing holiday starts right at the hotel: hop on the bus and ride in comfort to the lower station of the Schwemmalm cable car.

Cross-country skiers can enjoy the lovely winter scenery along the valley trail. Away from the slopes, there are some idyllic winter hiking trails, and memorable routes for ski mountaineers that take you through a pristine landscape, with splendid views of the towering peaks and plenty of invigorating fresh air. A winter walk or snowshoe hike through snow-covered fir trees and magical surroundings is not only a wonderful adventure, but also a balm for your body, mind and spirit.
